The Lokelani (rose) is the official flower of the island of Maui. It is believed to have been introduced to the Hawaiian Islands in the 1800s where it quickly grew in popularity.
There are over 100 species of rose, many which grow sharp thorns or prickles. Rose bushes can be small in size to over 21 feet tall, and have been used in many types of perfumes, fragrance oils, as well as for decorations and wreaths.
Did you know that Roses have even been used as food supplements?
